when i was little, i thought of conference weekend as "time off" from church. now, i can't get enough and i get a little sad when it is over. i love watching it at home, being able to get projects done, eating good food. i usually don't get much done as i sit and watch the messages.
this time, the choir sang "we thank thee o god for a prophet". it was powerful and the spirit touched me and i had this overwhelming feeling of gratitude for president monson and for my savior jesus christ.
talks i loved...
jeffery r. holland -service
dieter f. uchtdorf -simplify life, don't walk faster than you have strength
richard g. scott -faith (definitely answered my prayers-probably the one that spoke the most to me)
thomas s. monson -being grateful for our blessings
afterwards, we went to my dad's parents and ate soup, salad and brownies. when i was little, i remember the food we ate at their house. never disappointing. they make this really good soup that i finally got the recipe for. i can't wait to make it. it is always good to see family. i looked around me and saw those i love that surround me and love me. i am grateful more than ever to have them. they strengthen me and look out for me. i am so lucky to have them.
