1 month

i can't believe he is 1 month today! where does time go? i can't even express the joy, completeness, exhaustion, love, and warmth he brings into our home each and every day. paul and i just stare. literally stare...we are so blessed to have jack. he is such a beautiful boy, and those eyes are just like his dads. katie took pictures of phoebe each month on a calendar to document her growth. i loved the idea so much i wanted to do the same thing. i can't believe how much he has grown already. before i know it, he will be all over the place crawling and walking (just like paul). i am enjoying every minute of him. even those 3 am feedings!

so far...
-wakes up every 3 hours hungry. i mean, a hunger as if i haven't fed him in days
-doesn't like tummy time at all
-loves to be held all the time
-diapers...no store in utah has enough
-makes the best noises
-after i kiss his face a ka-billion times, he looks at me as though i am totally nuts
-smiles all the time while he is sleeping
-very alert
-loves looking towards light
-hates baths...loves showers with dad
-his natural baby smell is addicting
-hates being in the car seat
-flexes his toes all the time
-grip of steel
-doesn't pose for the camera yet
-has the best facial expressions
-we are completely wrapped around his fingers

moments

seriously...does life get better than this? jack is such a joy, i don't think i could think or say it enough. paul's favorite moments are just snuggling with his little boy. when i look at this picture, i see jack's tiny hand in his dad's and tears start. i love watching paul as a dad. he is the dad i always knew he would be. my favorite sounds lately are of paul talking to jack. telling him how much he loves him, how grateful he is for him and how much he loves his mommy (me). i am so blessed and life is pretty perfect!

superbowl sunday

we usually head to dad & mom's superbowl sunday for the traditional nachos, dips and treats. actually, we just eat ourselves silly. this year, a cold bug has been at their house circulating over and over. so, we stayed home. i tried to make it fun with the traditional fixings and it worked. aside from the commercials being really stupid, we just stared at jack. we still can't believe he is here and he is ours. when does it soak in? paul was the proud dad watching football with his boy. it was a nice relaxing day just being...
