the i-pad

jack loves the i-pad. we put some games on it for him, and every once and a while, we let him watch one of his movies on it. i want to make sure he doesn't get used to it, and that he spends plenty of time outside, but for a little treat, he can watch. he likes to lay there, and have it propped up on the pillow. today, i was putting a few things away, and it was blustery day, so of course winnie the pooh is the best choice.

a 3!

a caution...these photos of me are hideous...genuinely hideous...

i was cutting hair, and it was jack's turn. paul had him on his lap and we were talking. now, i normally cut jacks hair on an 8. i have to buzz it because it's faster, and jack doesn't sit still that long. well, i was talking to paul, and put the fitting on the buzzer... i went down the middle of jack's scalp, and stopped immediately. i knew it was too short, and i almost dropped the buzzer! i cut it at 3, a 3!!! i didn't want to finish, but paul told me i had to! i bawled the entire time, and i was heartbroken. i love his hair longer... now all there is to do, is wait:(

look who's two!

jack turned 2 this year! where does the time go? paul and i are so lucky to be his parents. he really is the goofiest little boy. the weather wasn't too bad, so we went on a walk. each time he saw a patch of snow, i knew he would take me to it. he steps on it, looks at me and smiles, then, heads to the next patch of snow. we spent about 30 minutes in our neighbors yard going from snow pile to snow pile. we finally got to the bigelow's house. while katie and i talked, he played on their horse. we had pizza for dinner, and for dessert, we had an ice cream bar and played a little game of pin the cherry on the sundae. i am so grateful he is surrounded by love. he is such a good boy.

his own shovel

with our last snow fall, jack was determined to help shovel, but he couldn't lift the shovel, let alone a shovel of snow. he didn't want help, he wanted to be a big boy like his dad. we decided to get him his own shovel, and he loves it! in fact...that may be an understatement.
a couple of days ago, we got about 6" of snow, and before we went to work, i asked jack if he wanted to help me shovel and he ran to the door.  i had to wrestle him to get his boots, coat, hat and gloves on! we had such a good time, and i loved watching him as he went around shoveling snow. every once and a while, he would ask me to watch him, and then he would grin. made my day.

icecream anyone?

i just came across these photos...they make me laugh!
i think they are from labor day, grandpa joe always makes ice cream when we go over. i was talking to one of my cousins and i heard my name being yelled. i looked over, and those around the ice cream maker were laughing. i was horrified to see jack quite at home with his spoon in the ice cream bucket. i went over to get him away from it, and grandpa just told me to take some photos and not to worry and enjoy him.  he definitely is mine with a love for ice cream. it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

a walk in the snow

jack loves the snow...i mean loves the snow. i am lucky to get a coat on him before he is out of the door (he won't let me change his shoes) walking along side the snow isn't good enough. he has to walk on the snow...not just a foot from the sidewalk, but into flowerbeds and backyards. i loved watching is little feet make the darn cutest prints. i see how small they are, yet i look and can't believe how big he is.
getting him into the house is a chore after a night on the snow. if i mention that we need to go inside he says, "no tatue". i mean the poor boys feet are soaked and frozen, but he doesn't care. so, i have to pick him up and carry him home while he screams:) good times.

applesauce

this is what happens when jack is left to feed himself when he isn't that hungry. i have heard that applesauce is a moisturizer? i sure hope so. it was straight to the tub for him:)
