a little history...
usually when we want to go camping, paul gets home late and most of the
spots are already taken, so we end up taking something just off the road
(which i hate). we do try to make weekends work, but before we know it,
summer is over and we didn't go. this year, we thought we would have to
make it work no matter what. we even have reserved a few more weekends
this summer! anywho, we really wanted to go somewhere further away, without the crowds, but when we leave late and don't really plan, we find what we find... so...
we wanted to get out and do something this weekend desperately. we were going to go with the whole fam, but with schedules, it ended up being just paul, me and jack.
earlier friday morning (after we picked mom up from the airport and took her home so she could nap), abby came with me to find a spot and set up the tent. that way, when paul got home, we could go right away, and we could find something. we drove up to hope campground. it was adorable. granted, there were other people around, but there was shade (a must for me)! we drove around to see the different sites and finally found one that was perfect. we set the tent up and jack and i headed to the store to grab a few things. i got everything packed, made and then waited patiently for dad to get home.
-we actually went camping
-jack's face as he looked at anything and everything
-tin foil dinners that hit the spot
-i bought the giganticists marshmallows on the planet
-jack slept perfectly
-i love watching jack and paul together. i can't stand it...i pray everyday to never forget moments
-every marshmallow started on fire, and they made the messiest s'mores "too much mallow"
-jack loved watching the fire
-i didn't get any weird bug bites that i would get a reaction to
-jack loves to play with things that make noise, but at the same time, he can't handle the noise (see videos)
-reading a bit of the host
-going on a walk to see the other sites
-the camp host had 6 chihuahuas
we had a great time, and it was a fun place to go at the last minute.
