mutual activity to salt lake

we took our young women to the new joseph smith movie up in salt lake city. i had not seen it, but i had some friends see it and they loved it.  my family saw it when they went to coronado (actually now that i think about it, not sure how they saw it, but they did). we got up to salt lake and waited for a few minutes. we went into the theatre and it started. of course i cried through the whole thing. i can't even imagine the faith of the early saints. especially emma. to know that your husband is leaving, you think he is coming back but then you look into his eyes and you know he isn't coming back. that is heartbreaking. a lot of my beehives were crying when it was over. it is a very moving film. even if you don't believe in joseph smith you ought to see it for the history. (i bet you will cry too!!!) the missionaries there told the girls to remember the way they felt. afterwards we went to mcdonalds and treated the girls to a sundae. it was a wonderful night.

snowmobiling

dad, abby, paul and i went snowmobiling this afternoon. paul was a little frustrated that i had to tag along with him (he wasn't able to go as fast as he wanted too). we went to wasatch national park. i used to go there when i was little with the birrell side of the family. we would stay all day. i loved to watch how high the snowmobilers would ride up the side of the big hills. i watched in awe and wondered if i could do that. of course not, i am a ninny. i would start and then fall over out of fear. today we got to the top of the ridge, and we stopped for some food. it was great to be out on a beautiful clear blue sky day, enjoying all my mountains have to offer...

our snowman

this year, paul and i decided it would be so fun to have some snowmen in our yard. my mom and sisters create the cutest ones, i thought paul and i could too. we went outside and started rolling snow. for some reason the tall one, paul, created a little snowman, and the shorty, me, created one way too tall! i could hardly lift the mid-section. putting the head on was out of the question. it is a good thing that paul was there to help lift it for me! i loved our little snowmen!!! the saddest day was when i got home from work and my 6+ foot man was laying face down in the snow. i asked paul what had happened. he knocked him over. a few days before then, he was leaning forward a lot. it seemed to get worse and worse. finally paul couldn't take it. he just nudged him and he fell. how sad...our snowmen this next year will be adorable!!!
